Online Headphones Test
Plug in your headphones and check that both ears work. The test plays a tone separately in the left ear, the right ear, and both — ideal for verifying stereo and catching a dead channel.

How to Test Your Headphones
- 1
Put your headphones on
Make sure both cups are over your ears and your system volume is set to a comfortable level.
- 2
Press Test Left
You should hear the tone only in your LEFT ear. If not, your left channel has a problem.
- 3
Press Test Right
You should hear the tone only in your RIGHT ear. If not, your right channel has a problem.
- 4
Press Test Both
You should hear the tone equally in both ears. If one side is quieter, check balance settings or try a different cable / Bluetooth device.
Troubleshooting Tips
- If the channels are swapped, your headphones may be worn backwards — check the L and R markings.
- For wired headphones, try a different jack or cable — a faulty jack often causes one dead channel.
- For Bluetooth headphones, check the audio balance in your OS accessibility settings (some systems default to one ear).
- Dust or debris in the 3.5 mm jack can cause mono output — clean gently with compressed air.
- If both channels work but one is quieter, check the balance slider in your system sound settings.
